Equity
Access to healthy food and a quality education is a basic human right no matter your zip code or income level. We strive to nourish children and their families through the avenues of experiential education and healthy food access, to address issues of food and health equity, and work toward the prevention of chronic disease and obesity.
Social Responsibility
We share an ethical obligation to act for the benefit of society at large to affect change toward a healthier environment, economy, and welfare for all. Our goal is to empower communities to collaborate with multiple people and organizations to beautify their surroundings while improving quality of life through healthier food systems, ecological practices, and increased strength of community bonds and advocacy.
Diversity and Inclusion
We acknowledge that differences between people are a valuable asset, and that all individuals must be able to work and learn in an atmosphere of acceptance, respect, and dignity.
Transparency and Fiscal Responsibility
We will provide clear information to stakeholders, with openness and willingness to release financial performance figures that are both truthful and accurate.
Good Science for Environmental Stewardship
We promote a stronger, healthier relationship between humans and the environment by improving the health of our community and our planet through teaching best practices in natural resource management that are guided by what is recognized as good science.
Integrity
We set high standards for our behavior, and choose words and actions that are sincere, and not misleading. We encourage collaboration with individuals and organizations that stand up for what we believe is just and good. We use our mistakes as an opportunity to improve.
Nature as Teacher
We observe and utilize the natural world to help teach the importance of growing and buying local, seasonal foods, eating healthy foods, and choosing organic foods whenever possible, as well as reducing our environmental impact, and working toward a healthier future.
